Girovago della musica ha compiuto gli studi tra Brasile, Europa ed
America ed i suoi interessi spaziano dalla musica da camera al jazz
colto alla musica brasiliana. Tutte influenze che si intrecciano e
ben si ascoltano nell'ultimo lavoro a suo nome, Prazer da espera. Si
tratta di un cd intenso, scritto e arrangiato dallo stesso Botter
Maio tranne una traccia, Mantiqueira, del pianista Nelson Ayres: una
melanconica ballad a due voci, piano e contrabbasso.
Botter Maio è un ottimo strumentista e risulta fresco e gradevole
anche nella scrittura: i suoi brani si susseguono con grazia e
delicatezza e dimostrano una grande creatività. Brani su cui non ci
soffermiamo perché tutti hanno in comune una caratteristica: quella
di trasmettere emozioni e serenità.
In questo progetto Botter Maio è coadiuvato da una schiera infinita
di ottimi musicisti che sanno tutti amalgamarsi allo spirito del
progetto apportando ulteriore eleganza espressiva ai brani.
Del resto personaggi come Toninho Horta, Jovino Santos Neto, Jane
Duboc ed Hermeto Pascoal si sono "scomodati" a scrivere ottime parole
di complimenti sulle note di copertina. Ed è proprio con le parole di
uno di questi, il grande musicista Hermeto Pascoal che concludiamo
