| Classified as Brazilian jazz or instrumental Brazilian music, the repertoire and the group have their uniqueness enhanced by the fact that each musician performs on more than one instrument. The compositions, most of which written by Rogério, showcase rhythmic strength, rich harmony and melodies influenced by the Brazilian musical traditions such as Samba, Afoxé, Frevo, Baião, Choro, etc. The authenticity and originality of the group create an unexpected blend of colorful tunes "taking you to a one night trip to Brazil". After several tours in Europe (since 1995) and Asia presenting the CDs Crescendo and Aprendiz, Rogério Botter Maio and his Group are organizing the European Tour in the Spring and Summer 2007 , presenting his third CD "Prazer da Espera", released in 2006. Formed by Rogério Botter Maio (acoustic and electric basses and voice), Carola Ortiz (voice and clarinet), Elisabet Raspall (piano and voice), Victor de Diego (saxofones and flute), Reinaldo Santiago (drums and percussion) the group also performs as a quartet in some situations. |
